Chair
The head of a committee, typically a member of the majority party. They control the committee's agenda, schedule hearings, and preside over meetings.
Vice Chair
A member who assists the chair and presides in their absence. Some committees may have a Vice Chair for both the majority and minority parties.
Ranking Member
The highest-ranking member of the minority party on a committee.
