State Representative Matthew Kishman is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 50th Ohio House District, which covers the lower Western and Eastern parts of Stark County. In addition to serving as Vice Chair of the Local Government Committee, Kishman serves on the Energy, Commerce and Labor, and Small Business committees, as well as the Ohio Ireland Trade Commission. 

Kishman serves as Director of Operations for his family’s business, Kishman’s IGA Markets. He has served on the Minerva Village Parks Board, Sandy Creek Joint Fire District Board, and Minerva Chamber Board of Directors. He has also served on the Government Relations Committee for the National Grocers Association, and is an active member in the Minerva Rotary Club, Stark County Farm Bureau and the NRA.

Kishman works for fiscal responsibility, regards education as a top priority, ardently supports the 2nd Amendment, and strives to make America energy independent.

Kishman, a lifelong resident of Stark County, lives in Minerva with his two sons, where he had served for five years on the Village Council. He graduated from Minerva High School, where he lettered in football, wrestling, and track. He holds a BA in Communication from Youngstown State University, where he played four years as an Offensive Lineman for the Youngstown State Penguin football team.
